Sandra is a proven senior level healthcare executive with well-developed leadership ability and demonstrated talent for aligning corporate vision and goals with organizational strategy. Sandra is dedicated to improving financial performance, enhancing competitive position, and achieving the most productive organizational alignment among medical staff, management, and clients to optimize overall performance. Sandra has an extensive background in molding healthcare facilities into comprehensive and leading presence across the entire healthcare space to include primary, secondary, and tertiary care, pharmacy operations, health insurance, healthcare consulting, and health informatics. Sandra has keen negotiation, communication, and presentation skills to which she has used to participate and negotiate over 500 federal audits on behalf of hospitals and physician groups with a success rate of over 95%. Sandra has an extensive compliance background to which she has used this experience to work within the healthcare industry assisting healthcare facilities and physician group practices maintain compliance with all applicable healthcare regulations and maintain overall organizational compliance in all areas. Sandra’s overall expertise expands to include facilities planning, financial operations, human resources, information technology management, managed care, operations, governance, physician practice management, strategic planning, marketing, equipment planning/support, and clinical services to assist in establishing businesses as competitors in the field.  

Sandra maintains an up to date status on all federal and state healthcare regulations through her ongoing study of the law. Sandra has pursued her legal studies through William Taft Law School, holds a Masters in Business Administration from Dowling College, Bachelors in Criminal Justice from John Jay College, certified in Healthcare Compliance by the National Compliance Certification Board (CCB).

Sandra’s professional affiliations include the American Healthcare Lawyers Association (AHLA), The Healthcare Compliance Association (HCCA), and The Society for Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE)

While Sandra has an extensive and successful corporate background, she has managed to share this experience through give back to her community and individuals. Sandra along with the late Reverend Robert McDuffie is the founder of “Meet the Challenge” a mentor organization founded in 1983 focused on higher education and career options for minority youth. Sandra is a volunteer at Mt Sinai Hospital for the Living Donor Program offering counsel and assistance to those considering donation. Sandra was a recent Kidney Donor for a relative, which is at the core of her passion for improving the healthcare of those suffering with diabetes and kidney disease. Sandra believes that at the center of all that is good in her life is spirituality. Sandra has a strong spiritual life and shares with others through her faith and provides service as a Eucharistic Minister with the Diocese of Rockville Center.

Therefore, when Sandra was introduced to the opportunity to share her knowledge and promote the cause of community awareness in healthcare with the Academy of Medical and Public Health Services it was natural fit.
